The Local Development Initiative Incentive Program is a comprehensive incentive mechanism aimed at leveraging regional potentials, bringing idle resources into the economy, and addressing local needs. Through the program, it is intended to reduce interregional development disparities, enhance competitiveness, strengthen local employment, and develop domestic production capacity. Within this framework, priority is given to the domestic production of imported inputs, the localization of supply chains, and the support of sectors with strong forward and backward linkages.
The program includes robust incentive instruments such as a 50% investment contribution rate through tax reductions, cash or interest/profit share support of up to TRY 301 million, VAT exemption, customs duty exemption, allocation of investment land, and social security premium supports. The implementation, monitoring, and evaluation processes will be carried out through Development Agencies.
In this context, the priority investment areas identified for Çanakkale include value-added production from wood and forest products (such as structural timber products, modular furniture, and functional furniture), integrated small ruminant dairy farming investments with a minimum capacity of 2,000 head, green hydrogen and its derivatives production (including liquid hydrogen, hydrogen-based chemicals, green ammonia, and green methanol), and value-added production from olives and olive by-products (such as activated carbon, vegan leather, and polyphenols). These designated areas are aligned with the province’s natural resources, industrial infrastructure, and sustainable development objectives, and aim to generate a strong development impact that starts locally and extends nationwide.
